MISSION:CODE engages and teaches children the fundamental building blocks of programming in a manner that is challenging, yet rewarding! Students use a fun, tile based language to put programming concepts to use in order to achieve game objectives. MISSION:CODE Offline activities inspire children to realize the power programmers can have in real life applications, including games, apps, and other machines, such as microwaves, and even airplanes!

1. What’s Programming
Students create a username and password along with a unique nickname and learn to create a set of instructions for a computer to follow (in order to complete a task or solve a problem)

2. Sequences
Students learn how a set of instructions that are run in order one at a time from beginning to end enable a computer to perform a task or solve a problem.

3. For Loops
Students learn the concept of loop identifying patterns (instructions that are repeated) to solve MISSION:CODE levels in fewer more efficient steps.

4. Relative Directions
Students learn and develop an understanding of relative directions and spatial reasoning.

5. Algorithms
Students learn to identify algorithms in everyday life as they recognize when to use relative and absolute directions to create a pattern.

6. Functions
Students learn to understand what a function is and when to use one by breaking a problem into sub-problems.
