PAYMENTS & CANCELLATIONS

All credit card payments are processed in full at the time of registration on this web site. Payments by check may be mailed in to Mad Science, however any registration for which we have not received payment within 10 days of said registration will be considered cancelled.

Refund / Cancellation Policy

No refunds will be issued for early withdrawal due to absences (for any reason including sickness), behavioral dismissals, power failures, unforeseeable events not within the control of Mad Science or other acts of nature. If students leave our program early for ANY reason, the tuition is NOT prorated and no refund will be issued. If a student becomes sick prior to their registered program Mad Science will work with each family to move them to another program during the same year. There typically is a $25 change fee for all registration changes. If a doctor’s note is provided, Mad Science may issue a credit for the time period that the student was ill.

After School Programs: Children who do not enjoy the first session of an After School Program can withdraw and receive a full refund if the registration was made directly with Mad Science (as opposed to a school or site sponsored program). After the first day of class, no refunds will be issued. Mad Science schedules one guaranteed make-up date per course for weather-related cancellations or changes in the school calendar (provided that the hosting site allows for this) If more than one such cancellation occurs, make-up classes will be held at the discretion of Mad Science and depend on the availability of the instructor and the facility. No refunds will be issued if multiple classes are cancelled by the school or school district.

Camp: If you choose to pay by mailing a check, we expect payment within 10 days unless you have made other arrangements. If payment has not been received, we will make one courtesy phone call, and then drop the child from the roster. If you register within one week of the start of a program, payment must be received before the program starts. Checks must be mailed to the Mad Science office - instructors will not accept checks at the school/camp.

If you cancel within 4 weeks prior to the camp start date, a $50 cancellation fee per camp will be charged. After the first day of camp, if your child does not wish to continue, the $50 cancellation fee will be charged and the balance will be refunded. However, you must call Mad Science at (914) 948-8319 prior to the start of the second day of camp to obtain a refund. After that, no refunds will be given. If we do not get sufficient enrollment to hold the camp (a minimum of 10 children per half-day camp) we will refund your credit card. There is a $5 fee charged if you cancel more than 4 weeks prior to the applicable camp start date. These policies apply only to camps which Mad Science handles the registration directly as our partners may have their own refund policies.

All cancellations must be submitted in writing and submitted to the Mad Science office no later than two weeks prior to the start of any program. Please note that refunds will not be issued without written confirmation from parent or guardian, stating that the student's parent/guardian is aware of Mad Science's cancellation policy and they understand that the cancellation fee amount is non-refundable. (The cancellation fee for Mad Science programs is $100 per program per student.) The cancellation may be emailed, mailed via United States Postal Service, or faxed. To cancel via email send to info@madsciencenyc.com; note in the subject line “Cancellation”. To cancel by mail via the United States Postal Service, send to:
