Look out 007—the Mad Science spy academy is in session! Use your powers of observation to solve problems and uncover crimes. Check out security systems, cool spy equipment, and discover proper procedures that are used in real crime scene labs! Mad Science Spy Academy camp will help you sharpen your special operative skills as you learn about the secret world of espionage. The key to being a great spy is your ability to use science to “sniff” out your suspects and uncover their secrets. (Ages 8 – 11)

These are only a sample of some of the activities that we will be doing each day. The topics will not necessarily follow this order. However, each of these topics will be included at some point in the camp.

Spy Academy – Look out 007—the Mad Science spy academy is in session! From edible messages and decoding clues, students will have the opportunity to check out the skills that spies have in this hands-on journey into the world of espionage. They will use the Secret Code Breaker to communicate in code, like real spies.

Agent Undercover – From metal detectors to night vision, children will have the opportunity to check out the coolest spy equipment! With the Undercover Observer, children step into the shoes of spies in action. What looks like an ordinary camera is actually a sneaky surveillance device that lets children spy on the side.

Sleuths on the Scene – Suspects, schematics, and sleuths… oh my! Connect the dots using science to help solve a crime in this hands-on investigation of the science of sleuthing. Campers continue their sleuthing at home using their Scene Solver take home to reconstruct the scene of a crime with family and friends.

Science of Security – Sharpen your surveillance skills with the science of security! Children discover the science and technology behind locks and burglar alarms! They will use Spyglasses on short surveillance shifts to test their observational abilities.

Sneaky Science – Become a super spy and learn clever ways of performing tasks in this hands-on view at the science that spies use. Discover what it takes to keep things safe and how technology works in the spy world. Design and build a security system, then try to foil your friends! Then, they will build their very own Secret Safe and challenge friends to crack the code to test their security skills!
